Christmas summary and the Winners

What a fab time we all have had - Father Christmas (Paul! hehe) brought me a whole host of goodies, CDs. Clothes, books and a pink MP3 player. He also brought me a CraftRobo, what a neat machine it is, and cutting single letters is just so easy. I got stuck on welded letters and it still doesn't seem to work that smoothly - but I think it seems to depend on the font. I also managed to make a die cut from a pic....but early days on that one! It seems to cut most of the card I have - but the thicker card it struggles on.

While we were in Taunton Owen chose a top for me - he chose everything the colour style etc - but I was with him! I didn't try it on so it may not have fitted....but it is perfect, all I need is to get the money from him, as he hadn't taken his money! Good one eh?!

Owen got loads of stuff - his big present was a bike which unfortunately the one delivered was not the one ordered, it has lots of pink on it...so we will have to get it exchanged - big disappointment. He did get the new Liverpool shirt - even though the shop pointed out that Owen didn't play for the team anymore - they couldn't understand why we wanted his name on it! Had good fun playing UNO Extreme too

We went out for a walk over Ampthill Park yesterday - loads of people seemed to be out and about - quite a few trying out the new play equipment, we went via Holly Walk - lovely and festive. Unfortunately the weather has not been so good over Christmas and today is more of the same...was hoping for a bright day

December 24th - the real one!

Arrived back from Taunton at around lunchtime - so had a really good run both ways which makes a change. My MiL had given Paul money for me to spend - so I did. So while we were there I had a nice lot of presents just what I ordered teehee. So technically the crop a dile and the shopping from Stamp Addicts were all for my pressie.

After lunch Owen and I made the sticky toffee pud for tomorrow, which looks yummy - just need to make the sauce.

Then after watching 'Uncle Buck' (hehe) on TV I played with my new toys. This was the results of my new rubber stamps and twinkling H2O's - Will have to do a proper play in the new year.

I have yet to use the crop a dile!

Happy Christmas Everyone - HE is on his way........

Well what a horrible weather day we had here - the fog didn't lift all day and it was very very cold. We popped out this morning to wander around the market and Waitrose...for some reason Owen was being a right 'Kevin'....so didn't spend long out!

We got home and made Kate's recipe for the biscuits and made mince pies. The biggest cheat of all I bought premade pastry (never done that before)...but was nice a quick and everything had a handmade look about it! Wandered out the back and found some holly bushes so thought I would dress up the picture....can honestly say we never went out the door again brrrrrrr

I put a fat ball out for the birds yesterday - it normally takes them a few days to find it - but they were queueing up for it already today...sorry couldn't clear the fog for the photos! will have to take some more on a bright sunny day

Lunch out again with my friend Gill, we went up to Matalans first - which was surprisingly quiet, and then had lunch at the Chequers on the way back to Ampthill. The pub has been closed for a while and it has changed big time inside - you wouldn't recognise it! Very busy, but soon got served and had a nice meal.

Owen's last day at school - they had a party, secret santa, a carol service at the church and a talent show...so busy and exciting day for him. He has just returned from another party at Scouts.

All presents for Christmas Day are now wrapped - will do the others on Boxing Day - as my parents do not some until the New Year. Not been making this week - as other things to do....so a bit short on photos.....

Went out for lunch today with the office - had a really nice Chinese at the Dragon Boat in Milton Keynes, it is quiet in there these days now that the Theatre district is built - shame really. We all had crackers and wore silly hats - well you just have to - don't you. Well that is it for me at work now until next week.

Not long now until the big day I hope you are all ready for it....I am almost. Owen finishes school tomorrow, they go to a church service and have a party - so not much learning.

OK OK - I mucked it up big time - the answer wasn't on the site - I had forgotten to update the page - I feel so embarassed - really sorry guys. :(

I have checked todays and it is definitely there - honestly....really. So now you have been wandering around the site - have you any other brilliant ideas that I can research and add to the site?

Off out for lunch tomorrow with work - just going round the corner to the Chinese - we were all too lazy to walk over to the Theatre District so are staying our side of the centre! What are we like! And what is it about this time of the year - that everyone brings in food - we have a big tin of sweets, although the bss that bought them seems to be eating more than the rest of us...and I felt compelled to buy a pack of biscuits in M&S today! Good to see that we all decided not to send Christmas cards again in the office and have a collection for Willen Hospice, I think it is the best solution all round - never knowing who to send to and not wishing to upset anyone by forgetting them.

December 18th

Well got wrapping the pressies today - quite a lot done - but still some to do. I finished my exploding box and am very pleased with it, I may have to show you it after Christmas as not sure who visits the blog!
I also varnished the coasters - not quite sure whether that was the best way to finish them, but here are the two girlie ones, I have made acouple of matching notepads and also have the CDs that I made for the weekend challenge - so have a nice little package of pressies, I have bought them something too, I hope that they like them.

I popped round to friends this afternoon to deliver Christmas cards, it was a lovely sunny afternoon and nice for a wander. I walked back in the dark and everyone had their lights up, very pretty.

I spent today making coasters for friends children and parents, have even given them a coat of varnish, so they are pretty much done. Then I have made an exploding box - well it is almost done - need to do the lid - bit stuck on that. I spent ages finding photos of Owen and have found all sorts I had forgotten about, so worth the reminisce. I will take some photos in the daylight tomorrow. have to say I enjoyed playing - but am sure I should have been doing somehting else!

It was my turn to do a couple of hours on Ampthill Country Market, it was V E R Y windy and so was very difficult to display anything really :( so I just had a basket of cards out today. I did manage to sell 5 - which was much better than I expected. It was very quiet - the road to Bedford was closed and I think a lot of people thought that Waitrose car park was closed....lots and lots of confusion with people trying to drive into the market end of the car park. The entertainment value of watching the cars was worth standing on the market!

I have written and posted all my cards now...so next on the agenda is finish shopping and then start wrapping. I still have no idea what to get Dad - and the day is looming...

Owen and I drove around to see everyone's Christmas lights tonight...he he - quite glad I don't live next door to some - but still great fun to marvel at!

I am planning to make an exploding box for Mum and Dad with some pics of Owen - it has taken me ages to find some - and now I have just printed them - and the colour isn't so good in some.

Question 15 for the 15th December.....

Had a great shop with Sue around Stamp Addicts on the Woburn Industrial Estate, I bought paper, a rubber stamp, stamp pads and a magazine...so getting kitted out with some lovely craft stuff. What a nice shop - if you spend £50 you can get 12% discount - mayve I should have spent a bit more! they have denami (sp?) stamps and they have some really lovely designs. We then had a disastrous lunch - so will gloss over that. Postie arrived with the next instalment of the CJ - I have to do CharlieCats now - it is really lovely. She also brought me my rubber stamps that I 'won' off Ebay. Then some of my Christmas shopping arrived from amazon...so a busy post day.

I also posted the pass the parcel to the next recipient - so watch out it could be you! Also posted my Christmas swap - so all done now for the activities on the forum. It has been really busy on there this year - thanks everyone for organising.

Then tonight I have been with the Scouts and Father Christmas around the streets of Ampthill, I have to say it was great fun - and really lovely to see the little children waving at Father Christmas, great effort by Ampthill Round Table the guy doing the driving will do it 11 times throughout December, what a star....I am exhausted tho - walking around for two hours - what a weakling! Did get a ride on the trailer for a bit too!
Sorry nothing made to show you today - but hopefully will get round to doing something tomorrow

December 13th

We have just had an email from Scouts to say they are accompanying Father Christmas tomorrow with the "Round Table", so I have offered to do and wander with them...I will report back on how it went!
So is anyone going to have a go with the template challenge - or even be inspired by some of the items on the site. Come on you know you want to......your last card before Christmas - how about an early Valentine?

I see that the popularity of the CraftRobo is growing - I see that Tracey has even found a link to a video saying it was educational so I need one for Owen!

December 12th

Monday, Monday...what rain we had this morning - was it like that your way? Back to work in Milton Keynes - it soon seems to come round. Still trying to think of something amazing for my Dad's Christmas pressie, and wandered round the centre at lunchtime as usual....but didn't come up with anything! I have not been stopped by a TV crew this year - so not nearly as exciting as last year - funnily enough the clip is still on the BBC web site ...here.... I am the one with the scarf and the fluffy jacket after a jumper for my Dad - see same old same...

I did have another play with the new stamp yesterday and tried something not pink...but think this one maybe a bit drab really - wanted to use the paper but couldn't find any other colours to go with it! I have actually ordered some new ones off Ebay last night - but am saving them for Christmas...quite getting into it.

I also made some cards for the advent calendar - I decided to a template challenge - my first go at 'hosting' one - so I expect you all to make at least one card! Well OK not sure if I have chosen a good template, but had a brilliant idea for my parents wedding anniversary which you will see

Sunday – a day of rest…..I actually didn’t do too much today. The boys went off to footie and had rather a long journey to visit a team in Aylesbury – no idea why they play in our league. Apparently they had an even longer journey there than expected as they went on convoy using someone’s sat nav! They lost and got very, very cold, luckily the long journey home gave them a chance to thaw out!

I put the Christmas lights on our conifers at the front – we normally have a tree at the front but it died during the summer and I have not replaced it, I guess I should have as we only have a 'fake' one inside. Been busy making cards and wrapped a few pressies for friends, I will start writing my cards tomorrow, BUT I have done all the address labels ready, how efficient is that.

December 10th

Busy day in one way or another. I spent some time sorting out some things for the advent calendar. Then believe it or not I got side tracked cleaning the windows, as the sun was showing them up! Then we got all the decorations down from the loft....

We then went out with the intention of buying a new tree but tbh they were pretty much the same as we already have - so came home again having spent 0. I really don't know how we resisted from buying the reindeer singing Elvis songs......

I have sorted out the birthday clubs for next year, somehow that took a lot longer than expected and I was supposed to be going to bid on a rubber stamp on Ebay and I completely forgot...I guess I really didn't need it!

I have no idea if you read the blog and whether it is something that interests anyone, maybe with the forum it is something that is not really worth doing.

Question 10 for the 10th December.....

December 9th

christmas lights
Work day again today, wandered around the shops for lunch and after as well. Boy is it busy in Milton Keynes, popped into M&S and it is already a bun fight in there - can't imagine what it is going to be like even closer to Christmas. I decided to get the turkey joint and put it on the freezer as we are going to Paul's Mums just before Christmas, so that will mean I can have some food left for us to munch on Boxing Day, normally it is a mad rush to go out the door to Taunton on Boxing Day! Hopefully I will have some new toys to play with as well!

So how did Sue's decorated tins go down - aren't they fab - what a great idea.

Question 9 for the 9th December.....

What a day with the weather - it was very windy here, so I decided just to leave a basket of cards at the market this morning as I thought the rest of my wares may blow away! I actually sold 3 cards which was 3 more than I expected as I am fairly sure not many people ventured out! Some of the stalls didn't even turn up. Luckily the rain held off until about 1.30pm and then it chucked it down.

I popped round to a friends for lunch, Karen used to live over the road to me. She has moved to Houghton Conquest and I had a look around her new home - along with hot tub and swimming pool. Neither of which I tested! She had 20 of my cards in a box and had managed to sell 15 - so that was good, my top salesperson. I have left another 25 with her.

I posted my CJ so it should be with Carol fairly soon! I also made a few more cards as I was spurred on by the sales. I used a template from a book - I shall have to add them to the forum later.

Question 8 for the 8th December.....

December 7th

This week the postie brought me my Crop-a-dile - apparently I need one, and they were so cheap on US bay I couldn't resist, especially as the dollar is doing us loads of favours atm. I bought it from this seller, although she doesn't seem to have any at the moment. I would definitely recommend her - it came within a week and the shipping was $12 or you can have two for the same ship fee. So the big question is have you got one and what do you use yours for?

Well I have finished my CJ pages - but they are a secret until the end so I can't show you...which is a real shame cos I have never done anything like this before and am itching to show someone!

I can confirm that the cookies that are in the step by step guide today were fine...we eat the last few this week and we made them the Sunday before last! I hope that you like making them.

Question 7 for the 7th December.....
All the answers are somewhere on the site including the gallery and the forum, and these are the only accepted right answers. I hope that you are enjoying a look around the site, and maybe stumbling across things that you didn't know were there.
