Cards

I made some cards last weekend and thought I would share them with you....I bought some new stamps from Lili of the Valley, as yet not finished any cards with them, so will get on with them.  So in the meantime here are a few that I have made with some stamps that have been in my possession for some time.

So on the first one just decided to get out a red stamp pad that has not seen the light of day for some time!

I love the simplicity of this hat stamp.

My cards are always a bit plainer than some, and I use watercolours.  Still trying to improve my technique, lots of things I could do better - but enjoy having a go!  Any advice would be great, and some suggestions of where to look for new stamps would always be good :)

and got out a watermark pad to do the background on this one, to make a change.

Birdhouse

Years ago Owen had a kit for Christmas to make a birdhouse.  It has been in the garden for years,  and it suddenly fell off the fence.  Sadly it has never been a home for anyone.

I realised that it needed some tlc, so as I have a big tin of the green and cream that I painted the garden furniture last year to match the arbour, I set to work to making it a smart des res for the birds.  So here it is, do you reckon, the birds might like it now.

I have put it in a different place in the garden now, it is just beside the arbour, this is last years picture just before I planted up the flower bed, need to take another pic when the sun comes out!.

Garden

I love this time of the year when the garden is coming to life, I have decided to change a flowerbed in front of the shed, so will have to get some pictures of that.  In the mean time I thought I would share my new planter:

I have been meaning to do something like this for a while and finally saw a simple wooden box that I thought would fit the bill.  I bought a sack of alpine grit from B&M stores which at £4.00 was a good price, and the box was from Hexton - I think I paid £5.

I mixed the grit with the compost and once planted added a layer on the top.  I am hoping it won't want much watering :).

Here are a few more flowers around the garden.

Oriental poppies

Rose - Pretty Polly

Perennial Wallflower - Bowles Mauve, it just want to flower and flower :)

The first Cosmos out today

Osteospermum - loves to flower in the sun
